    • I use ew4sp2 and I have done everything you said to do, but my snipets do not show up. I also made a new folder and put them in and I see the folder but that is it.
      Can you please help?
    • It worked for me whith ew4 before i installed the SP2. Now whith ew4sp2 it doesn´t show up any own snippets.
    • Expression Web 4 SP2 has a new and completely different Snippets solution. I'm in the process of creating a new WordPress Template Tools snippets solution along with installation instructions. It will be uploaded to replace this one shortly (as in possibly today).
    • I've published the new template tools for Expression Web 4 SP2. Follow the new instructions above for all the new goodness.
    • I had to quit and restart EW4SP2 before I could see the folder.

      Thanks Morten!
    • YOU MUST UNHIDE THE FOLDER!!!!!!!!!!! to see AppData

  • EW3 path for Snippets in Vista
    4 Posts | Last Post September 09, 2011
    • Thank you Morten. Nice Snippets!

Thought to give the EW3 path for Vista,

      C:\Users\comet\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Expression\Web 3\Legacy\Expression\Web 3\Snippets
    • I can not get these snippets to show up with EW4. I have added it to the location suggested. I have other snippets that were added fine, but this one doesn't show up. Any suggestions? I placed it where Paul said also, and it did not work.

      Thanks in advance.
    • For EW4, it looks like a slightly different syntax, with a series of .EWS files rather than a single XML one.
I'm no expert, but I've translated that XML file into a folder of zipped .EWS files.
I've uploaded it to www.kenilweb.com/files/wp.zip ; Unzip them into a folder called WP in the mySnippets folder in the locations described.
      Hope this helps someone!

    • The path I found worked was:

      C:\Users\[your windows user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Expression\Web 4\Snippets

      Hope this helps someone :-)

  • EW3 path for XP sp3 and problems.
    2 Posts | Last Post November 14, 2010
    • I have XP SP3 and EW3. Path is C:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft Expression\web3\en\Snippets. After download I found two files in folder the Snippets folder, "snippets XML 5KB" and the one from this page "WPsnippets
XML 3KB". I followed the instructions on this page and everything I know and the WP codes never appear in the list of code snippets. I give up!
    • To use these EW2 code snippets under EW3 you need to make some slight changes.

The path to the custom code snippets is C:\Documents and Settings\<your_user-name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Expression\Web 3\Legacy\Expression\Web 3\Snippets

And they are save as SnippetsCustom.xml If this already exists you may want to rename it, other wise just save your ver 2 snippets as SnippetsCustom.xml and you should be good to go.
